Tair Zharokov was a front-line writer and one of the poets who made a colossal contribution to the development of Kazakh poetry.

Inspired by the heroic feat of the pilots Fedosenko, Vasenko, and Usyskin, who set the first world record by ascending in a stratospheric balloon to an altitude of 22000 meters, T. Zharokov wrote one of his first poems, “Күн тіл қатты” (“The Sun Spoke”) (1934). In the poem, the author managed not only to describe this historic event vividly but also to convey the courageous image of his contemporaries.
