Alkei Margulan was the founder of the Kazakhstani school of archaeology, a prominent figure in various fields of science: ethnography, history, oriental studies, literary studies, and art history. He held a Doctorate in Philological Sciences, was an academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic, and a professor. He made a significant contribution to the study of the history and literature of the Kazakh people. He authored dozens of books, over three hundred scientific studies, and more than a hundred encyclopedic articles dedicated to history, archaeology, ethnography, literature, and art."
