On November 8, 2021, a delegation from the Republic of Poland visited the ALZHIR Museum and Memorial Complex. The guests were welcomed with opening remarks by Darina Saduovna Sadu, head of the organizational department of the Directorate of United Museums of Nur-Sultan. Museum specialist Elena Samorokova began the tour at the Stalin railcar. Then, with the participation of Tomasz Grodzki, Marshal of the Senate of the Republic of Poland, a flower-laying ceremony took place at the memorial sign to women of Polish nationality who served their sentences in ALZHIR from 1938 to 1953. This was followed by a screening of the documentary "The Bitter Cold of ALZHIR." The distinguished guests were given a tour of the Alash and ALZHIR halls. At the end, as a keepsake from the museum, Mr. Grodzki was presented with a collection of memoirs of ALZHIR prisoners and their descendants, "Urpaktar umytpaidy. Pomnyat potomki" (Descendants Will Not Forget), published by the museum staff for the museum's 10th anniversary and the 80th anniversary of the start of mass political repression, as well as a list of ALZHIR prisoners from Poland. In the museum's guest book, the distinguished guest wrote words of gratitude to the museum staff for their contribution to preserving the memory of the tragic days and events of the 1930s-1950s.
