Literary and Musical Evening in Memory of the Women Prisoners of ALZHIR
On May 18, 2022, on International Museum Day, an Open House Day was held at the ALZHIR Museum.
On May 18, 2022, on International Museum Day, an Open House Day was held at the ALZHIR Museum. On that day, free tours of the Alash and ALZHIR museum halls were offered to everyone, and the documentary film "The Bitter Cold of ALZHIR" was screened. Throughout the day, tour guides and museum staff welcomed guests and led tours in the guise of women prisoners of the ALZHIR camp, wearing dresses of the 1930s to 1950s.
On the same day, a Literary and Musical Evening in Memory of the Women Prisoners of ALZHIR took place on the museum grounds. It was organized as part of the 85th anniversary of the start of mass political repression, the 15th anniversary of the ALZHIR Museum and Memorial Complex, and the Year of Children, together with the Tselinograd District House of Culture and the Malinovka search club. During the event, artists of the Tselinograd District House of Culture from the village of Akmol presented a concert program featuring patriotic songs of the 1970s and 1980s, and members of the Malinovka search club and students of the Akmol Village Comprehensive Secondary School read poems written by the women prisoners of ALZHIR.
At the end of the event, the staff of the Tselinograd District House of Culture and the members of the Malinovka search club were presented with gifts from the Amanat-ALZHIR Public Foundation.
