On October 26, 2022, at the Zhastar Palace in Astana, on the initiative of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan K.K. Tokayev, who declared 2022 the "Year of Children," the first large-scale children's forum "Ashyq Niet" was held with the direct participation of children aged 12 to 18, aimed at studying pressing issues of the global community. The goal of the forum was to create an equal-footing business platform to increase children's engagement and social activity; to hold discussions, exchange views, and showcase international experience on various topical subjects; to present innovative ideas and projects; and to further develop cooperation among participants on a wide range of issues.
The main part of the forum focused on the following topics:
1. Ecology and children's health
2. Emotional intelligence
3. Science and innovation
4. Digitalization
The plenary session addressed the effective use of the Internet and the development of an algorithm for consuming information. Participants discussed environmental campaigns, charity, volunteering, emotional intelligence, and concrete steps to support children's mental health.
The forum was attended by secondary school students in grades 6 through 12, project leaders, school teachers and methodologists, volunteers, moderators of plenary sessions and panel sessions, experts in healthcare, education, science, ecology, innovation, and new technologies, child psychologists and coaches, the Children's Rights Ombudsman, and representatives of local executive bodies.
At the close of the forum, participants heard the experts' proposals and received recommendations and expressions of support. To publicize the scientific and project work of children, it is proposed to organize a Republican Children's Forum every year.
Forum participants and project leaders were awarded letters of appreciation, and the forum concluded with a festive evening.
