April 3 – 150th Anniversary of the Birth of Amangeldy Uderbaiuly, Hero of the Kazakh People.

Amangeldy Uderbaiuly Imanov was a hero of the Kazakh people.

Amangeldy Uderbaiuly Imanov was a hero of the Kazakh people. A skilled marksman, a daring horseman, and a freedom-loving hero, he took part in the uprisings against the government in 1905–1907, was persecuted, and was forced to hide in remote villages of the Torgai steppe. In 1910, on his initiative, a school was built in the village of Terisbutak, Amangeldy's native land. The organizational and military talent of the hero Amangeldy was vividly displayed during the national liberation uprising in the Torgai steppe in June 1916, in protest against the decree of the Russian emperor.

The statue of Amangeldy Imanov was created by the first professional Kazakhstani sculptor, People's Artist of Kazakhstan Khakimzhan Naurzbayev. Amangeldy's image as rendered by Naurzbayev has a deep psychological character.
