Halel Dosmukhamedov is an Alash movement figure, doctor, pedagogue and scientist. Despite being a doctor by profession, he is keen on various issues of social life, a political and public figure, a historian, a naturalist, a linguist, a man of letters, a collector of rare examples of oral literature, a propagandist and a skillful translator.
       Halel was the first Turkologist of Kazakh origin. In 1923 he published an article under the title "Diuani lughat at-tүrіk" in the 7th issue of "Sholpan" magazine. In this article he introduced the great dictionary to the Kazakh society for the first time and marked Mahmud Kashgari's place in history. He collected folk oral literature and published it in the press.
