In honor of the occasion, the Directorate of United Museums of the Astana Akimat organized festive events with free admission as part of the “Night of Museums.”
The ALZHIR Museum and Memorial Complex of Victims of Political Repression and Totalitarianism presented to visitors information about the victims of political persecution and the long history of suffering as told by the descendants of the women prisoners. The museum was open to visitors until 9:00 p.m.
In addition, on the occasion of International Museum Day, the Saken Seifullin Museum presented to residents and guests of the city an exposition of rare photographs and artifacts kept in the museum collection since the museum opened. The museum was open to visitors until 11:00 p.m.
