Shakarim Kudaiberdyuly is a poet, thinker, historian, translator and composer. He was born on 11 July 1858 in Chingistau, in Kenbulak district along the Baikoshkar River. Shakarim was a prolific writer in all genres of literature for more than half a century of his creative life. He studied literature, history, geography, natural sciences, physics, the art of words and the art of music.
